Get ready for lots of outdoor fun on the streets of Red Bank. Ice skating, a life-size Snow Globe, Scavenger Hunt, a Holiday Bazaar, and plenty of holiday spirit.
From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, get ready to enjoy some time-honored holiday traditions and see and experience something that’s never happened before in Red Bank!
You’ll be able to ice skate on Broad Street! And a life-size snow globe will welcome you to Winter on Broad Street.
Thanks to a synthetic ice surface that requires no water or refrigeration, you and your family and friends will have an opportunity to glide across Broad Street between White and Monmouth Streets. Or, maybe you can step inside the nearby 15-foot tall snow globe where you can take a selfie or, for the full snow globe effect, have a friend take your photo from the outside.
You may want to consider wearing festive socks, because if you want to step inside the snow globe, you will need to remove your shoes. Groups of up to six people can step into the snow globe for free. Ice skaters can bring their own skates or rent skates at the rink. Skate rental is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Skating sessions are free. All skaters will be required to sign a liability waiver, so children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is able to sign the waiver.
Held on one of the most picturesque downtown streets in America, Winter on Broad Street promises to be a festive experience like no other; offering Holiday shopping throughout town and at the single-day holiday bazaar on Wallace Street. Curated by three Red Bank stores specializing in locally-made and crafted goods (All Things Local, The Artisan Collective, and The Local Line), you are sure to find one of a kind treats that will make perfect, original gifts for friends and family.
Participants are also encouraged to grab a Holiday Word Hunt Puzzle from the VUE Magazine table (next to the Skate Rental stand at 55 Broad St.) which will take them on a festive adventure around the downtown district. The Word Hunt Puzzle will feature a holiday poem that can only be completed by searching for words located in retailer windows. Participants will use clues in the poem to lead them to five retailer windows where they will discover a word to fill-in-the-blank and complete the poem. The first three groups to return their correctly completed poem will receive a Red Bank Gift Card, valid at more than 100 retailers and restaurants in town.
As part of RiverCenter’ Holiday Happenings musical series, The Calvin Ringers from Tower Hill Presbyterian Church will perform at 12:30 p.m. and The Wag will perform at 4 p.m..
Of course, there will also be plenty of delicious food available on and off of Broad Street. Whether you are looking for a quick bite or a sit-down meal at one of Red Bank’s 80 plus restaurants or eateries, you’ll find something to please your palate and your group.
